Please read these terms carefully before using ShopBud.
Last updated: July 21, 2026These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Jacob Ramilo, an Australian sole trader based in Kellyville Ridge, New South Wales (trading as "ShopBud," "we," "our," or "us"). They govern your use of the ShopBud iOS application, website, and related services (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or guardian must approve your use.
ShopBud helps you create and share shopping lists, record budgets and prices, scan shelf tags and receipts, organise products, and review shopping statistics. Some features use artificial intelligence ("AI") to extract, match, categorise, or sort product information. Features may change, and some require internet access, device permissions, or a paid plan.
ShopBud supports guest accounts and optional sign-in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for activity under your account, maintaining control of your device and sign-in method, and providing accurate information. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use. Guest accounts may not be recoverable if you sign out, delete the App, lose your device, or clear its data. Linking a guest account to Apple or Google may enable account recovery and cross-device sync.
ShopBud may offer monthly or annual auto-renewing subscriptions, a lifetime in-app purchase, and introductory trials. Available products, prices, trial eligibility, and included features are shown in the App before purchase. "Lifetime" means access to the purchased ShopBud tier for as long as we make that tier available; it does not guarantee that the Service, every feature, or compatibility with future devices will exist forever.
You retain ownership of shopping lists, receipt content, feedback, and other material you submit ("Your Content"). You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, process, transmit, and display Your Content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service. This licence ends when Your Content is deleted, except for lawful retention, backups, or content shared with others.
You must have the right to submit Your Content and must not include unlawful, infringing, harmful, or unnecessarily sensitive information. Anyone with a valid sharing code may join and edit the associated list. Share codes only with people you trust. You are responsible for changes made by people you invite.
Scans, AI output, product categories, prices, totals, savings, and statistics may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. You must review important information against the product, shelf label, receipt, and retailer terms before relying on it. ShopBud does not set retailer prices, sell the scanned products, guarantee availability or savings, or provide financial, tax, nutritional, health, or other professional advice.
You must not:
We and our licensors own the Service, including its software, design, branding, and content other than Your Content. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for its intended purpose. No other rights are granted.
The Service relies on third parties, including Apple, Google Firebase, Google AI services, Google Sign-In, and Qonversion. Their services and terms may apply to your use of their features. We are not responsible for third-party services, outages, or changes outside our control, but these Terms do not limit any responsibility we have under applicable law.
You may stop using the Service at any time and may delete your ShopBud account in the App. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially or repeatedly breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or misuse the Service. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership, disclaimers, and liability provisions.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation, permanent availability, or that content and AI output will be accurate. We disclaim implied warranties to the extent they may lawfully be disclaimed. Nothing in these Terms excludes guarantees, warranties, or other rights that applicable consumer law says cannot be excluded.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ShopBud and its personnel will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, opportunities, or anticipated savings arising from the Service. Our aggregate liability relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for the Service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD $100 (or local equivalent). These limits do not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable law so provides.
We may update the Service and these Terms. We will post revised Terms and update the date above. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide additional notice where required. Changes apply prospectively from their stated effective date. If you do not agree to revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Subject to any mandatory consumer protection or jurisdiction rights available where you live, the courts of New South Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. Before starting formal proceedings, you and ShopBud agree to try in good faith to resolve the dispute by email. This does not prevent either party from seeking urgent relief or exercising a right to proceed directly under applicable law. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a business transfer.
